Our year long partnership with Chester Cathedral is now underway. Claire Henderson-Davies, Contemporary Performance Artist and Theologian, is on a three year residency at the Cathedral and her role is to engage with the liturgical, social and communal life of the Cathedral. Claire is keen to make the Cathedral a safe space for the whole community and through her innovative and creative ways of working hopes to see lots of new faces.
Last Sunday I attended the planning meeting for the next 6 workshops, some of the topics being covered include issues such as the refugee crisis, disability and the celebration of International Women’s Day. There were the most amazing ideas and themes emerging during this meeting and I will keep you all informed as to how you can get involved.
The next workshop is being held this Sunday, 15th January at 6.30pm in the Chapter House, with a focus on volunteering. CVA is bringing together a number of guest speakers to share their experiences of volunteering and to demonstrate what a diverse population they are. We hope that you are able to join us to share your thoughts, be inspired to get involved in your community or to simply find out a little more.
To coincide with this workshop we are also re-launching the hugely popular 1001 Faces of Volunteering photography exhibition that was held last September. This candid exhibition is the perfect way to demonstrate the enormity and diversity across the volunteering community. The exhibition can be found in the Cathedral Chapter House until Friday 20th January.
