Chester Voluntary Action is working with People’s Health Trust to support groups through the first stage of the new Active Communities fund which opens on Wednesday 20 January.

The fund is for between £5000 and £25,000, for (part) salaries, project or running costs, some capital costs and aimed at small/medium sized charities or community groups with incomes of less than £350,000.

The fund is for projects or activities in the most deprived communities in Cheshire West and to qualify for funding, up to 90% of participants need to live in these “fundable neighbourhoods”. That includes areas such as Lache, Blacon, Upton and Newton, most of Ellesmere Port, parts of Northwich and Winsford. Stage 1 of the fund closes on 17 February.
