Cheshire & Warrington Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) Sector /LEP Reference Group is holding further information sessions and workshops to ensure local organisations are well placed to take advantage of the Big Lottery / LEP / European Social Fund (ESF) ‘Building Better Opportunities’ programme across Cheshire and Warrington.

Can you reach and engage the most marginalised / disadvantaged people facing multiple barriers and support them to gain life skills, be more socially included and work towards employment?

We want to ensure that this opportunity reaches local providers from cross sector organisations who can work collaboratively to support this specific group of people.

Across the sub-region the first tranche of funding will be £11m over the next 3 years with a similar amount for a further 3 years. The intention is to fund one project to deliver the activity across Cheshire and Warrington. The project is likely to be delivered by one lead applicant working in partnership with cross sector organisations. Any organisations wishing to get involved in this work will need to lead or join such a partnership. We already have a number of organisations that have expressed an interest in leading a consortia/partnership.

The Reference Group intends to support the development of a cross sector partnership comprised of local organisations from across Cheshire and Warrington to deliver the Building Better Opportunities Programme.

It is anticipated that the call to bid to deliver Building Better Opportunities will be launched early June 2015.
