aA new Health Improvement Strategy for 2018-2022 has been developed. The Health Improvement Strategy is made up of five chapters:

  • Eat Well, Be Active
  • Tobacco control (smoking)
  • Alcohol harm reduction
  • Drug misuse
  • Sexual health and wellbeing

The strategy has been developed as a collaboration between Cheshire West and Chester Council Public Health team and a range of partner organisations. The purpose of the strategy is to shape and focus the work they do to improve health and wellbeing in these five key areas. The strategy has not been finalised and they would like to know your views in order to make improvements to the final strategy.

There are lots of ways you can give your views.  See the dedicated website, www.cheshirewestandchester.gov.uk/healthimprovement for more information. Here you can view the draft strategy and complete one of the questionnaires. There are also two consultation events scheduled:

  • 22 February at the Saltworks in Northwich, 10.00am-12noon
  • 1 March at the Ground Floor meeting rooms, HQ Building in Chester, 10.00am-12noon

You can email  with views or request printed copies of the consultation booklet via publichealth@cheshirewestandchester.gov.uk

The consultation is open from 2 January – 27 March 2018.
