From NHS West Cheshire Clinical Commissioning Group:

At its meeting on September 15th, 2016, NHS West Cheshire Clinical Commissioning Group’s Governing Body discussed the findings of the recent consultation “What should we prescribe in West Cheshire?”

A decision was subsequently taken to implement the proposals listed below from October 1, 2016:

1. That we stop prescribing treatments and medicines for short-term, minor conditions/ailments or where there is insufficient evidence of clinical benefit or cost effectiveness

2. That we stop prescribing gluten-free foods

Policies are currently being updated by the Medicines Management team and will be in place from 1st October. The full, independent consultation report can be viewed here
