Enabling Community Empowerment Fund 2015/16

Cheshire West and Chester Council is committed to encouraging and empowering residents to make a difference to their neighbourhood or community.  To support this, the Council is once again inviting applications to its Enabling Community Empowerment Fund for the 2015/16 financial year.

Grants of between £5,000 and £25,000 are available to voluntary and community organisations for the following purposes:

a)      Activities and/or events which promote innovative communication to improve community engagement and encourage participation.
b)      Activities and/or services that promote community action and self help and contribute to building more resilient communities.
c)      Activities and/or services that reduce demand on locally delivered public services and focus on preventative action.
d)      Activities and/or events that bring communities together to improve their local environment.
e)      Activities that build community capacity and leadership by encouraging community groups and individuals to take an active role in decision making within their local community.
f)       Activities and/or services which minimise the risk of economic disadvantage, social isolation and exclusion or tackle economic disadvantage, social isolation and exclusion where it currently exists.
