Volunteer Coordinator Network Meeting ( 09:15 - 11:30 )
How Diverse is your Team of Volunteers?
Venue: Quaker Meeting House, Union Walk, off Frodsham Street, Chester, CH1 3LF
Many organisations now understand the importance of having a diverse range of volunteers and staff, with people from different ages, from diverse cultures and with different perspectives.
A diverse group of volunteers enables an organisation to:
- present a more welcoming face to volunteers, client groups and the general public and therefore be more representative of our wider society
- be more able to respond to the needs of your local community
- benefit from the new ideas and fresh approaches being generated by people from different backgrounds, cultures, genders, ages and outlooks
- attract more customers and service users.
With this in mind Lizzie Stevens from Dial House will give a short presentation on the diverse volunteers giving their time to Dial House, how she manages her large team of volunteers and the importance of this diversity in making it the thriving organisation that it is. We will also hear from some volunteers who will share their own experiences. We hope that this will inspire you to take the occasional risk, give people a chance and not be afraid of difference.
- 9.15 - 9.45: Registration, Networking and Breakfast
- 9.45 - 10.00: Welcome and News Round
- 10.00 - 10.30: Presentation: Lizzie Stevens Dial House and volunteers experiences.
- 10.30 - 11.30: Open Forum
