The SkillShare initiative promotes local skilled volunteering. It matches local business people and other professionals, who are willing to volunteer their skills, with suitable charities and community groups that require their services.

How it works

CVA manage SkillShare and act as an independent broker between the two parties. SkillShare is a collaborative initiative between several private, public and civil society organisations. Cheshire West and Chester, and most recently Bank of America, have seconded a member of staff each to work on the project.

CVA has established links with local businesses and public sector organisation and works in partnership to support the voluntary and community sector. We have a membership of over 400 voluntary and community organisations and hold information on their specific requirements, enabling us to suggest appropriate matches.
