Santander 4_0Careers and Employability at the University of Chester are currently working with Santander Universities to provide 4 week fully funded placements within Charities, Social Enterprises or Not for Profit organisations within the Cheshire and surrounding areas.

To be eligible to host a placement, your organisations must meet all of the following criteria:

  • Be a charity, social enterprise or not-for-profit organisation
  • Have fewer than 250 employees
  • Have an annual turnover of less than £50 million

Placements will be open to first year and second year undergraduate students from the University of Chester and will be fully funded by Santander Universities. Students will receive £1000 for the 4 weeks.

The placements can begin from 13th June 2016 and will start no later than the 31st July 2016 for a total of 4 weeks. The placement should be of high quality and provide an opportunity for the student to develop their skills and confidence, and gain knowledge and experience of working in a professional field. Placement students might work on a single specific project during their placement, or the placement might provide a broader overview of the work undertaken within your company’s particular sector and the associated skills required. Examples of projects could include, but are not limited to the following areas:

  • Graphic Design work
  • IT support
  • Finance
  • Marketing

Please note that there is only funding for 7 placements and there is no guarantee that the right candidate can be found for you, however if you decide to proceed with the programme, your placement advertisement will be advertised on our University portal where all first and second year students will be able to view your advertisement and any students who are interested can apply directly to you.

Placements will be offered to organisations on a first come, first served basis, therefore, if you have a suitable project and your organisation would benefit from having an undergraduate student on a 4 week placement, please complete and return the Santander Universities Work Placement Information Form to start this process.

Here are the Santander Terms and Conditions and the Santander Universities Work Placement Guide for reference.
