Localgiving has been funded by the People’s Postcode Lottery (PPL) to support 75 groups across the North West with some kind of environmental aspect to their work in online fundraising. This could include “Friends of” groups and parks as well as groups that help people with learning disabilities or mental health problems through working on allotments/gardening, by way of example.
As part of this, they get free membership to Localgiving and £500 matched funding from the PPL, if they are able to raise £500 online. So, the benefits are –
- 12 months free membership to Localgiving
- Access to free training and mentoring, to help groups to develop their online fundraising and digital marketing skills
- Support to develop and then deliver an online fundraising campaign
- £500 ring-fenced match funding, to match donations made to a group’s online fundraising campaigns
The project runs for 12 months initially but ideally would continue for another 2 years.
