Chester & District Voluntary and Community Sector Network
The Network, established in 2002, comprises more than 450 voluntary, community and faith organisations active across rural and urban areas in the District. CVA’s Network database provides individual details about each group and their activities. Organisations range from volunteer-led, community based and self-help groups to staff agencies providing services across a wide range of activities and interests.
A Network Forum meets quarterly with local groups sharing information and discussing key local developments. The Forum also receives feedback from its 2 elected representatives on Chester in Partnership Steering Group, the body responsible for co-ordinating the work of different sectors and producing a community plan for the area. This enables the voluntary and community sector to have a voice on important policy and partnership matters in the District.
