preparing_for_adulthoodThe Department for Education has commissioned a two year programme called Preparing for Adulthood to provide knowledge and support to local authorities and their partners, including families and young people, to ensure that disabled young people achieve paid work, independent living, good health and community inclusion as they move into adulthood.

One of the aspirations of the programme is that of employment and CVA have been asked to join an employment task and finish group.  Our membership in this group will ensure that the third sector has a voice in how the desired outcomes of the programme will be achieved. We will also use this opportunity to share our extensive knowledge of the local the third sector and expertise in the field of volunteering.

You can help to support this programme by opening up your volunteering opportunities to a wider audience. CVA can help you to make your volunteering programme more inclusive and to recruit more volunteers. Please get  touch if you would like to discuss this in more detail.
