Chester Business Club, one of the leading business groups in the Chester area, is offering all local charities the opportunity to raise funds for their own charitable coffers by getting volunteers to take part in the annual Chester Charity Walk.
This year’s Walk will take place on Sunday 11th September 2016 and all Charities associated with Chester Voluntary Action are warmly invited to use the event to raise funds on a ‘self help’ basis – and to boost their takings by getting sponsorship contributions GiftAided.
Club secretary Bob Clough-Parker says, ‘Our annual Walk gives the Club the opportunity of supporting our local community and, not least, as many local charities as possible. For those who have not previously taken part, it’s important to point out that far from being any kind of competitive race, the Walk is a gentle Sunday morning stroll, its distance only six miles (and a bit!) and with our customary Refreshment Stops en route it all makes for a very enjoyable experience!’
Starting from Chester Racecourse at 11am (Registration is from 10.30am) the route takes walkers over Grosvenor Bridge, then on to the Duke’s Drive, on to Eccleston Village from where it’s through The Meadows alongside the River Dee before reaching the Finish in Chester city centre.
And to help everyone on their way, walkers will be sustained by way of the Club’s legendary
refreshments: Mars Bars, Orange Juice, Bacon Butties & Coffee – and, finally, a refreshing Gin & Tonic (or a soft drink).
All CVA-associated organisations are warmly invited to take the opportunity to raise sponsorship money for their own charitable causes. Chester Business Club will provide Sponsorship Forms for each charity taking part, with the GiftAid facility clearly shown. Charities can further promote themselves by getting their Walkers to wear ‘branded’ T-shirts or hats.
