Special Educational Needs and Disability Strategy (SEND) 2016-2020

Cheshire West and Chester Council is in the process of developing a SEND strategy to further implement the SEN reforms detailed in the Children and Families Act 2014..

The council wants to get views of parents, carers and children and young people as well as other stakeholders on the draft strategy in order to develop plans and actions for the next four years.  An eight week period of formal consultation will start on Monday 13th June and run until Sunday 7th August 2016.

Information about the consultation and how to respond will be published on the council website and the Local Offer.  The full draft strategy and a summary version for young people will be on the website together with an online survey response.   Responses can also be made via The Information Advice and Support Service who will be able to support anyone wanting to complete a paper copy or wanting further advice how to share their views and comments.

Once we have considered all the responses a final strategy document will be presented to cabinet for approval on 21st September 2016.
