Alan was nominated by Rosaleen Winterburn from Alzheimer’s Society who added, “Alan is a reserved, polite gentleman who quietly gets things done.  He volunteers as a driver and a befriender and nothing is too much trouble for him”

1Our panel of judges said “Alan ticks all the boxes for commitment.  What stood out is that how he gets on with whatever is asked, without fuss or seeking recognition, and that he takes time to tailor his volunteer visits as a befriender.  Not only that, he volunteers for other organisations as well as helping with hospital transport”

Alan wins a great prize package including vouchers for Gladstone Library and tickets for Storyhouse. He also won an Elemis beauty set donated by The Grosvenor Hotel as well as personalised artwork from local artist Graffiti Dave.

The runner up was Anne Hesketh from Dee Sign Choir who wins chocolates from Retain Wellbeing CIC, passes for Total Fitness and a voucher for Hoole Community Cafe
