Chester Voluntary Action attend the Suicide and Self-Harm Prevention meetings which are hosted by Public Health at Cheshire West and Chester Council. Our role at these meetings is to provide the attendees with an overview of the work that is going on across the voluntary and community sector, and to pass on to you, our members, information about initiatives, policy, events etc.

Yesterday we spoke about World Suicide Prevention Day on September 10th . If you are already recognising this date let us know so that we can inform the wider sector, if you have not thought about marking this day why not be involved in the Thunderclap which is being organised by Champs (Cheshire and Merseyside Public Health Collaborative).

What is a Thunderclap? Quite simply it is one message, one number, one date. It allows a single message to be mass-shared, flash mob-style, so it rises above the noise of your social networks. If you would like to make some noise click here
