Adult Health and Social Care Stakeholder meeting

The Network meets four times a year and comprises around 200 self selecting contacts from a diverse range of interests, including voluntary organisations, carers, service users and user led groups, individuals, providers, NHS and social care staff. The only criteria for attendance is to have an interest in adult social care and health issues in the Borough.

The meetings are currently chaired by a chief officer from a third sector organisation. Usual attendance is about 40 people but it can vary. Once a year there is an “away day”, with a targeted attendance and the opportunity for discussion of themes in workshop groups.

The meetings are supported at senior level in the council with service Directors, senior managers and Councillors (including the Cabinet Member for Adult Social Care) attending.

Meetings are often used as a vehicle for giving information, undertaking consultation and to showcase new initiatives or services. Agenda items can be suggested by anybody. Stakeholders are always asked if they have any questions/issues they want to raise.

If advance notice is given, written responses are circulated and discussed at the meetings. Meetings are not formally minuted but a note of key issues and any actions is taken as a reminder.

There is no need to pre-book into these meetings - just turn up. If you would like to have papers sent to you regularly, just leave your email or postal address as you sign in. We would be delighted to see you.

Venue and agenda to be confirmed.
