Cheshire Enterprising Women was a one year project funded by NatWest/RBS Skills & Opportunities Fund which came to an end on 31 December 2018.
We engaged with 149 women. 12 new businesses started up. 19 jobs were created.
6 social enterprises set up including support for people with autism, performance poetry for people with disabilities, celebrating diversity, positive body image, as well as arts and crafts to reduce loneliness and isolation.
We set up a closed Facebook group for the project to share information, support and ideas.
We developed excellent working relationships with the Business Growth Hub, NatWest, Ellis & Co, By George Marketing and Blue Orchid to provide bespoke training.
“We are delighted that local businesses have supported the project either as facilitators/trainers or mentors and are delighted to see willingness from local business women to support other women into business.” [Joanne Stanton, Chester Voluntary Action]
