We have been funded by The Westminster Foundation to support groups in improving their digital capacity.

Our recent IT survey highlighted some issues and gaps that were not surprising given the findings of The Charity Digital Skills Report and our new IT Works project aims to help our members to improve their online presence, generate income and save costs using the internet..

In the age of GDPR we have had to update our website and relevant policies.  A recent check on our voluntary and community group members showed that 60% had a website that isn’t secure.

A secure website can help you on Google rankings, but more importantly it tells a visitor that any information they provide is secure.  If your site has the option for somebody to provide personal data (e.g a contact form or by making donations) then your site should be secure.

Over half the groups who completed our survey were not happy with their website and wanted to change it.  We are offering a limited number of website healthchecks over the next 12 months as well as offering groups the chance to develop a digital strategy.

Look out for our forthcoming social media surgeries and several IT-related training sessions.
