Funding

– At CWVA, we manage different funding pots to help distribute grants to community sector organisations.

We also signpost organisations to the funding opportunities available locally and nationally. Below is a list of funding pots that are currently open for applications.

Tweed Family Charitable Foundation

Amount: £5000-£10000

This is an annual fund that aims to inspire socially disadvantaged young people to achieve their full potential. Funding is available for local not-for-profit groups in England and Wales, for projects supporting young people to develop their social and practical skills through mentoring, education and community activities. Grants of between £5,000 up to £10,000 per year, for up to three years are available.

Delamere Dairy Foundation

Closing Date: 29/02/2024

Amount: £1,000 - £5,000

Applications for grants and financial support will be considered from charities and other organisations based in England, Scotland and Wales whose work benefits local communities, and whose purpose aligns with the Foundation’s objects. Charities and organisations may apply once per calendar year.

Asda Foundation

The Asda Foundation supports small, grass roots organisations in several ways throughout the year. Working with Asda’s Community Champions in store, they are able to work with a range of organisations and groups on a variety of local community projects. Groups are advised to apply early, as the schemes will close once they reached their budget cap.

The Baily Thomas Charitable Fund

The Baily Thomas Charitable Fund is a grant making registered charity which was established primarily to aid the research into learning disability and to aid the care and relief of those affected by making grants to voluntary organisations working in this field. The Fund operates two general grant funding streams, a General Grant Programme for appeals of £9,000 and above and a Small Grant Programme for appeals below £9,000.

Kelly Family Charitable Trust

The Kelly Family Charitable Trust focuses on UK charities engaging family members, funding endeavors tackling issues like early intervention, mediation, and services for abuse victims. Grants for Good

Applications are now open for the next round of Grants for Good. This programme, funded by the John Good Group, offers unrestricted funds that can be used for any costs, including core running costs. These grants are designed for small and growing charities, voluntary groups or social enterprises making a big impact on communities, people or the environment, closing on 15 March 2024.

Masonic Charitable Foundation – Dementia

Closing Date: 31/03/2024

Amount: £1,000 to £5,000 and £10,000 to £60,000

The Masonic Charitable Foundation focuses on targeted interventions for dementia care, aiming to enhance carers' abilities, reduce loneliness, improve health, facilitate access to services, and empower individuals with dementia. Small grants, available to charities with annual incomes between £25,000 and £500,000, range from £1,000 to £5,000 per year for up to three years, with no specific purpose required but with a 20% cap on the charity's total income. Large grants, for charities with incomes between £500,000 and £5 million, are project-specific, covering expenses like salaries and equipment, typically ranging from £10,000 to £60,000 over one to three years.

Postcode Neighbourhood Trust

Amount: £500 - £25,000

Funding is available for established organisations in northern England with over a year of operation and signed accounts. The funds are flexible and unrestricted, aimed at addressing various needs. Interested parties should verify eligibility based on postcode. Application details are available on the Trust's website. Each organization can apply once per funding round and may receive one additional opportunity in 2024 if unsuccessful.

Cheshire Community Foundation’s Small Grants

Cheshire Community Foundation’s Small Grants are now open, closing on 31st October 2024. In this programme, organisations can apply for funding of up to £2,500 to help small, grassroots projects deliver. The Foundation will always prioritise applications for work which supports people who live in more deprived areas of Cheshire according to the Index of Multiple Deprivation.

Aviva Community Fund

Amount: Up to £50,000

The are two key focus areas. • Financial wellbeing – helping people take control of their wellbeing by giving them the tools to be more financially independent and ready for anything. • Climate action – promoting healthy, thriving communities by preventing, preparing for and protecting against the impacts of climate change.

The Chester Bluecoat Charity

Closing Date: 31/12/2024

Amount: Up to £500 and £2000+

You can choose from two types of grant to apply for: strategic funding and small funding. The strategic funding can help an ambitious project with a robust plan. The Chester Bluecoat Charity award grants of at least £2,000 to schemes that aim to make a lasting difference in the community over several years. With their small funding programme, The Chester Bluecoat can offer organisations a single grant of less than £500, which could help buy much-needed new equipment.

The Steve Morgan Foundation provide a range of grants for organisations that make a positive difference to those in need. Areas of support include poverty, homelessness, health and wellbeing, education and training. They also provide smaller grants to individuals requiring specialised disability equipment.
