Local School Nature Grants Programme

Learning Through Landscapes is providing outdoor learning training sessions and nature equipment to nurseries, schools, and early learning providers to encourage outdoor education for children. The Local School Nature Grants Scheme offers a two-hour training session and equipment worth up to £500, including woodland activity kits, gardening kits, woodworking kits, and fireboxes, to promote outdoor learning in schools.

Tesco Stronger Starts funds grants for healthy food and activities for children across the UK. We have partnered with The Sun to power their Footie for All campaign with our Tesco Stronger Starts programme to create a Footie for All Fund. We will be providing £150k in grants to grassroots football clubs across the UK as well as raising awareness of the importance of children having opportunities to thrive through opportunities for more physical and mental wellbeing. The Footie for All grants will support grassroots clubs in providing more spaces, better equipment and new kits – anything they need to help support children in their local communities.

The Golsoncott Foundation

Grants rarely exceed £3,000 and are given on a non-recurrent basis with some exceptions. The trustees overriding concern is to support those projects that demonstrate and deliver excellence in the arts, be it in performance, exhibition, artistic craft, or scholarly endeavour. Many applications are received from organisations and other charities whose focus on the arts is part of their wider social, youth, educational, faith-based, or therapeutic. Additionally, where applications concern young people, the trustees are interested in a long-lasting connection between them and the art, rather than a project offering little scope for further involvement.

CWaC Sanctuary Funding

Funding for activities designed to support refugees, asylum seekers and other vulnerable migrants living in Cheshire West and Chester. Grants for the first round will run for either a 12 month period with a maximum grant amount of £5,000, or 24 month period with a maximum grant of up to £10,000. Capital Grants for Community Buildings – 2024-25 Fund now open

Amount: Up to £10,000

Funding is capped at £10,000 per application. The fund is targeted at community buildings, community groups and parish councils to develop their community buildings and spaces with projects that align with UKSPF priorities. The main outcomes of your project should be focused on financial sustainability – either saving or reducing costs or generating income.

Onward Community Fund

The aim of the fund is to make a positive difference in communities served by Onward and provide Onward customers with practical support and guidance in response to the increased cost of living. The funding is intended for projects that address one of the following themes: Theme 1: Work – supporting community-based employment, training, volunteering and enterprise opportunities. Theme 2: Food – supporting food resilience in communities during a challenging economic period. Theme 3: Green – improving access to and use of greenspace in communities to improve wellbeing. Theme 4: Digital – providing digital skills and support. Examples of projects could include: IT training, Youth projects, Community events, A life skills course on topics such as cooking on a budget and making money go further.

Women and Girls Match Fund 2024

The Women and Girls Match Fund utilises their ‘1:1’ Model of match funding. Women and Girls charities apply to Big Give and have their application assessed. Successful charities are awarded a sum of match funding which is ring-fenced for their organisation. This match funding is unlocked by public donations given through Big Give’s online fundraising platform during the campaign.

Central Social & Recreational Trust

The funding aims to enable disadvantaged children under the age of 21 to access facilities for recreational or other leisure time occupations. Grants will generally be no more than £1,000 although the Trustees will consider applications above this figure in exceptional circumstances. Funding is available for the following: Equipment for the use of all members of the club. Maintenance of properties, as long as the property is owned by the club or there is a significant lease period. Applications may be submitted at any time.

The Ford Britain Trust

Baily Thomas Charitable Fund

The Baily Thomas Charitable Fund is a registered charity which provides funding to voluntary organisations working in the field of learning disability. The funding is available for projects that aid the care and relief of those affected by learning disability. The Trustees consider learning disability to cover the conditions generally referred to as severe learning difficulties, together with autism. Funding is available for projects concerning children or adults.

With Climate Action Fund – Our Shared Future the NLCF wants to involve more people in climate action. And they want to inspire bold and exciting change. They will fund formal partnership projects that reach more people by either: - linking climate action to the everyday lives and interests of local communities. And inspiring them to take action. - influencing communities at a regional or national level. Like linking up groups across locations. Or a campaign that inspires change across one country, or the whole UK. You do not have to be a climate or environment focused organisation to apply.

The Chester Bluecoat Charity

The Chester Bluecoat Charity award grants of at least £2,000 to schemes that aim to make a lasting difference in the community over several years. They look to support organisations in this category with an annual fundraised income (non-statutory) of below £500,000. Currently closed to capital funding. Promote Health and Well-Being – core funding for areas such as family support e.g. Home Start, counselling services, suicide prevention, specific carers support, cancer support, prisoner support and rehabilitation, community centres, food banks and debt advice. Typical grant sizes range from £1000-£5,000. They look to support organisations in this category with a total annual income of below £250,000. As this is a broad area, potential applicants are encouraged to contact them prior to applying for further guidance.

Village halls small grants fund – ACRE

Closing Date: 31/12/2024

Amount: £2,000 - £5,000

The £3 million grant fund, launched by the government in May 2022 for the Queen's Jubilee, provides £2,000 to £5,000 grants for rural community building improvements in England, covering up to 20% of project costs. Applications require confirmed funding for proposed works within six weeks, and the fund is expected to be open until December 2024, subject to possible early closure.
